Dahi Vada


  • 1 cup urad dal
  • Ginger
  • Tender Leaves cumin seeds
  • Tender Leaves rock salt
  • Water
  • Curd
  • Tender Leaves red chilli powder
  • Tender Leaves cumin powder
  • Tender Leaves black salt

Cooking procedure:

  1. Wash and rinse the urad dal and soak it in water for 5-6 hours.
  2. Strain excess water and put the dal in a blender. Add half-inch ginger and with very little water maybe only 2-3 tbsp of water grind it into a smooth paste. (do not put more water while grinding it)
  3. No add few Tender Leaves cumin seeds and Tender Leaves rock salt as per taste.
  4. Heat oil and make small round shaped vada and deep fry it. Remove it on a paper to remove excess oil.
  5. Now whisk some curd in a bowl with little water.
  6. In a plate put the vada, pour some whisked curd. Sprinkle Tender Leaves red chilli powder, black salt and cumin powder.
  7. Garnish it with little green chutney and sweet tamarind chutney.
